The University of Winchester is located 97 km south west of London and 23 km from Southampton. The university and all the recommended accommodation is within 20 minutes walk of Winchester train station, which runs frequent fast trains to and from London Waterloo (1 hour) and Clapham Junction (1 hour).

The nearest airport is Southampton Airport, a 10 minute train journey from Winchester, which operates some European flights (see here for details). However, the London airports of Heathrow and Gatwick are also both within easy reach.
How to get to Winchester from Southampton Airport (11 minutes):
Leave the airport and walk to Southampton Airport Parkway train station (3 minutes). There are direct trains to Winchester from here which take approximately 8 minutes.
How to get to Winchester from Gatwick Airport (1 hour 30 minutes):
You should get the train from Gatwick Airport station to Clapham Junction (this takes approximately 24 minutes). At Clapham Junction, there are a number of direct trains to Winchester. The fast train takes approximately an hour.
How to get to Winchester from Heathrow Airport (1 hour 45 minutes):
From Heathrow Airport, get the Heathrow Express to Paddington (17 minutes from terminals 2 and 3). At Paddington, swap on to a train to Reading (fast trains take 26 minutes). At Reading station, swap on to a direct train to Winchester (which should take around 34 minutes).
The Venue: University of Winchester
The University of Winchester is conveniently located at the heart of the historic and beautiful city of Winchester, which is 60 miles south west of the capital London. Winchester’s many attractions include one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, and the 13th century Great Hall with King Arthur’s Round Table. The conference will take place in newly built award-winning buildings on the university campus with state-of-the-art facilities.
