We are pleased to announce that the 12th Annual Conference and Masterclass 2019 will be held at the Norwegian Police University College Conference Centre in Stavern, Norway, between Monday the 24th and Friday the 28th of June 2019. The Masterclass will take place on Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th of June 2019 and the Conference will take place between Wednesday the 26th and Friday the 28th of June 2019.
The iIIRG Annual Conference and Masterclass promotes specialist knowledge exchange between practitioners and academics, professionals and researchers, all with an interest and expertise in:
– Investigative interviewing of victims, witnesses, and suspects
– High interest groups and intelligence interviewing
– International war crimes investigations
– The immorality and ineffectiveness of torture
– International Human Rights
– Interview advice, training, and decision making
– Specialist interviewing skills (including intimidated, vulnerable and reluctant witnesses, use of intermediaries)
– Forensic linguistics
– Detecting deception
The 2019 Conference and Masterclass offers delegates a diverse programme of professional and leisure activities in the beautiful surroundings of Stavern, Norway. The Conference Centre is a part of the Norwegian Police University College (NPUC). For this conference they have 145 rooms for conference delegates. We are very grateful for the highly subsidised accommodation costs NPUC has provided iIIRG for these rooms. We know this is going to be very well appreciated by our delegates and members. Prior to the conference, delegates will be able to attend a two-day masterclass that will be taking place over the 24th and 25th of June. The Masterclass, led by Professor Lorraine Hope and Mr Wayne Thomas, will be focusing on intelligence debriefing: Cooperation, memory and elicitation techniques. Throughout the Conference, we will also be hearing from three fascinating keynote speakers: Professor Juan E. Mendez, Professor Lorraine Hope and Professor Laurence Alison. Bursaries and Free Masterclass Places
The iIIRG offers a number of bursaries covering the conference registration payment to student and practitioner members. To apply for one of these, please complete the application form here before the 11th of March 2019. A number of free places on the Masterclasses are also offered to its members (student, practitioner, or academic). Please apply for a free place here before the 11th of March 2019.
