We are pleased to announce that the 11th Annual Conference and Masterclass 2018 will be held at the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto, Portugal, between Monday the 2nd and Friday the 6th of July 2018. The Masterclass will take place on Monday the 2nd and Tuesday the 3rd of July 2018 and the Conference will take place between Wednesday the 4th and Friday the 6th of July 2018.
The conference will be of interest to all professionals (academic researchers, law enforcement agencies, Government and International bodies, Judges, lawyers & students) involved in the investigation of crime and misconduct, the interviewing of victims, witnesses & suspected offenders (including ‘subjects’ and ‘insiders’), interview training and policy, interview decision-making processes, detecting deception, forensic linguistics, and high interest detainees.
The 2018 Conference and Masterclass offers delegates a diverse programme of professional and leisure activities in the beautiful surroundings of Porto. Prior to the conference, delegates will be able to choose one of two two-day masterclasses that will be taking place over the 2nd and 3rd of July. The first two-day Masterclass, led by Irit Hershkowitz, will be focusing on evidence-based best-practice in conducting, coding and evaluating child forensic interviews. The second two-day Masterclass, chaired by Carlos Eduardo Peixoto and John Halley, will be focusing on the role of investigative interviewing in judicial decision-making. Throughout the Conference, we will also be hearing from two fascinating keynote speakers: Professor Irit Hershkowitz and Phillip Esplin. Delegates will enjoy a unique array of social activities. We are delighted to have received so many abstracts for the 11th Annual iIIRG conference in Porto. Everyone who submitted an abstract should now have heard back from the Scientific Committee. The speaking spots are now full, but we would welcome additional poster presentations from academics and practitioners to showcase your work.
